The small town of Smith Valley, Nevada is buzzing with excitement as the annual Smith Valley Craft Show to take place on May 25th and 26th, 2024. This highly anticipated community event is not only a great opportunity for local crafters and business professionals to showcase their talents and products, but it also serves a greater purpose of giving back to the community.
The Smith Valley Craft Show is organized by the M. Kameron Hawkins Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting community events in Nevada. Under their Nevada Events online platform and the Nevada Lifestyle magazines, the foundation has been able to successfully host, market and promote this annual event with the profits and or net proceeds going back to Lyon County, NV for the Dressler Park and Fields 2024 budget. d) Update on tennis/basketball/pickle ball court- Judge shared the curb will be started
soon. The asphalt needs almost a year to settle before they can seal and stripe it.
12) For Possible Action: Review and direction of SV Parks Board updates for arena fees,
maintenance and usage agreement- Judge shared the development plan is trying to make all areas and usage of the arenas the same across the county. Business licenses will be needed to hold events. Events can get temporary business licenses. The board can also choose to “sponsor” certain events/organizations to waive fees. All of the plans will go in front of the commissioner board before agreements are made. Read more…
